My Memory/Experience

Donkey Kong Country has always been one of my favourite games, I've been playing it for years.
Soon after its release my brother and I got it, we also somehow got the DKC Exposed VHS, which I thought was pretty cool to have back then.

Well I was just blown away by Donkey Kong Country, and it wasn't really the graphics, I just loved the characters and gameplay. I would play the game for hours, back when I first got it I found some of the levels pretty challenging, I remember re-playing some frustrating levels over and over.
My brother loved the game as well, and would play it all the time as well. But we would also play the two-player co-op mode alot, taking turns on levels so we wouldn't fight, and when we found out about that free switching in 2 player mode code, we had some fun fighting times, :P

I remember turning the game on, and doing the Down, Y, Down, Down, Y Code. Which lets you play any of the animal buddies stages, I would sometimes just play those for awhile, and not even the main game.

Even years later, after getting DKC2, other games, newer systems, I'd still just love to turn on DKC and play through the game. By that point I could just run through the game much faster than when I first played the game, but I always had blast, replaying great levels, seeing those classic enemies and bosses. Donkey Kong Country was one of the early games that I just played and LOVED, and it will always hold special memories to me.
