Barrels

Donkey Kong Country is just scattered with tons of barrels, with so many uses, I didn't even realize
how many until I was making this page, so sit back, and look at the barrels of Donkey Kong Country.

Barrels
Description

Barrels
Let's just start with a regular barrel. This will show up in many levels. It can be used to throw at enemies, or brake away walls and get into bonus areas.

Blast Barrel
This type of barrel will show up in quite a few stages. Sometimes it's stationary, sometimes its moving up and down, or left and right, or up and down in a diangle.
You will get to decide when to get blasted out of it by pressing B. Try and time it right, as usually you'll be aiming for another barrel, or a platform, shoot at the wrong time and die!

Blast Barrel Automatic
This barrel is much like the Blast Barrel, except it will automatically fire you as soon as you enter it. Since it's automatic, it will blast you to safety. But there are rare times where you have to time when you get in, to not die!

Bonus Game Barrel
This barrel will show up in bonus rooms. Sometimes holding an animal token like shown to the left, sometimes having letters, Balloons, etc. Time your jumps when you hit it to win.

DK/Buddy Barrel
A very common barrel, found in every level, even boss levels.
If you don't have your buddy with you, either Donkey or Diddy will pop out of it when you destroy it, depending on who you don't have. But it can also be used like a regular barrel. Throw it at enemies, and at walls to reveal bonus areas.

Funky's Flights Barrel
I'm throwing this barrel in with the others, and considering it one, well, it's main area is made out of a barrel. :)
Take this flying barrel and travel to all the areas of the game you have already been.

GO Barrel
A rare barrel. When this barrel is shown it means the Rock Kroc's are running around! Hit it and it will turn to a Stop Barrel and the Rock Kroc's will go to sleep for a bit.

Half Way Barrel
This barrel will appear in all the levels except the boss ones.
It will appear, well, about half way through the level. Just hit and brake it, and if you die on that level, you will re-start where the half way barrel was.

Metal Barrel
A cool barrel, showing up in a few levels, even the first.
Take this barrel, throw it at a wall, it will come rolling back, jump on it, and start riding on it for awhile. Hitting enemies in the way, you can breeze past a decent sized distance sometimes with this.
Technically a keg, but I classify it as a barrel since it looks like one, and acts like one in many ways.

Save Barrel
Looks just like the half way point barrel, but it is different. See this barrel at Candy's Save Points. Jump in it, and save your game.

Stop Barrel
Goes along with the GO Barrel. When it's shown the Rock Kroc's are sleeping.

TNT Barrel
Here we are the last barrel, number 12. This barrel is somewhat common, showing up in a variety of levels. Much like a regular barrel, throw it at enemies and walls, but it will explode when thrown.
