The Buddy

Description |

Enguarde
Enguarde is Donkey and Diddy's Swordfish friend. He can be found in
water levels. You can ride him around, and use his nose to destroy
enemies. Get near an enemy and he'll automatically move forward to hit
it.

Expresso
Expresso is Donkey and Diddy's Ostrich friend.
Find him in some above ground areas, even some winter areas. Jump on
him and quickly ride across the level, jump in the air and sort of
float/fly for awhile.

Rambi
Good ol' Rambi, the Rhinoceros buddy. Take control of this Rhino
and ram into enemies, as well as some walls to reveal bonus
areas. (Like the first level)

Squawks
The only animal buddy you cannot ride, and only in one level. Squawks
will follow you around in this completely dark level and provide light.
It won't fill the whole screen, just a trianglur-type area in the
direction you are facing.

Winky
And last but not least, Winky the Frog. Take control of this buddy in
some levels and jump very high. |
